- The album, I Look Upon Nature While I Live In A Steel City, is due out next month.
Field Records will release an album from US producer L'estasi Dell'oro, I Look Upon Nature While I Live In A Steel City, in late January.
Following a year focused mostly on Collection—a compilation featuring a squad of underground techno talent and spread across two CDs and three vinyl samplers—Field's first move in 2015 is an album from another relatively low-key artist. L'estasi Dell'oro is Christopher Ernst, a New York-based DJ and producer of atmospheric, leftfield-leaning house, techno and experimental music who also works under the names Penalune and Subbway. He's appeared on Berceuse Heroique, Fifth Wall and Macro in recent years, and on top of that, he runs Flaneur Audio and is the co-founder of Voodoo Down Records, two labels that have placed his tracks alongside material from the likes of STL, Anton Zap and October.
Ernst has already released a handful of albums (including two as Penalune on STL's Something imprint), but I Look Upon Nature While I Live In A Steel City is his first proper full-length as L'estasi Dell'oro. It also marks his debut on Field, which promises a "hugely varied," "expressive and expansive modern techno album," and it will come on double-vinyl and digital formats.
