- Don't Be Afraid will debut the Detroit producer's new alias in December.
DJ Bone will release a new record as DIFFER-Ent in mid-December.
The Detroit artist, whose productions and DJs sets comprise a blend of tough yet melodic techno, has been in demand this year: he played Freerotation festival and Room One at fabric, made his first New York appearance in 15 years and has a track featured on Nina Kraviz's forthcoming DJ-Kicks mix. There's not much information about the DIFFER-Ent project bar a simple credo in the press release: "DJ Bone is Detroit... DJ Bone is Techno... DJ Bone is Differ-Ent..."
The DIFFER-Ent 12-inch will land on Semtek's label, Don't Be Afraid (you can stream the first cut, "Different(Hrall)," via SoundCloud below.) It's one of three DBA 12-inches coming before 2014's out: the other two come from Bristol's Lily (backed by a Madteo remix) and Jack Murphy. Listen to both of those here.
