  • Hybris will release Emergence on September 8th. Evan Vischi—an American producer now living in the Czech Republic—has built up a healthy discography of EPs since 2010, showing off a hard-edged but nuanced take on drum & bass for labels like Metalheadz, Modulations and Dispatch. One of his most well-known releases came out on Noisia's Invisible Recordings back in 2011, and now he's returning to the label for Emergence, Vischi's first foray into the full-length format. Exploring his more aggressive side, Emergence deconstructs the snarling textures of techstep into a variety of forms, ranging from broken beat to dubstep to drum & bass tempo. Check out a video for new single "Garbage Truck" below. "The album is meant to be listened to from start to finish," says Vischi, "and I'd like to think it is a dynamic journey of sounds, textures, and emotions. Some tunes are very dark and moody, some are epic and triumphant, some downright scary, some are strangely nostalgic, and some quirky and playful."
