- J.Phlip and Kevin Saunderson are among those booked at the festival and its afterparties.
North Coast Music Festival will again set up shop in Chicago's Union Park next Friday the 29th through Sunday the 31st.
For the Labor Day-weekend event's fifth annual edition, the lineup once again highlights electronic music, with lots of big-room, EDM and bass acts like Alesso, Bassnectar, Dada Life and Cashmere Cat. Also booked are hip-hop icons Snoop Dogg and Talib Kweli and a couple DJs like Dirtybird's J.Phlip and locals Orchard Lounge who should offer up more house-oriented sets.
Along with the daytime happenings in Union Park, an extended weekend of afterparties has been planned. Highlights from that part of the program include a Thursday pre-party at Concord Music Hall, with Mount Kimbie, Chet Faker and Fujiya & Miyagi. The most notable one for house and techno heads is probably Transit's event on Sunday, which will feature Marc 'MK' Kinchen, J. Phlip and Kevin Saunderson.
