  • Rinse FM will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a series of one-off events, broadcasts and collaborations scheduled across the coming months. Started in 1994, the East London station ran as a pirate until it was granted a community FM licence by Ofcom in 2010. The milestone festivities will kick off at Notting Hill Carnival during the August Bank Holiday, where Rinse will set up shop at the Rough But Sweet Sound System. On Friday, September 5th, they head to fabric for a three-room takeover, with sets from Todd Edwards, Princess Nokia and Visionist all locked in. September 12th sees Rinse fly out to Ibiza for W.A.R at Ibiza Rocks, hosting Route 94, Oneman and live PA from Jess Glynne. They will also broadcast live from around the island as part of a series of house-themed shows. Back in London, the first weekend of October will see Rinse return to Ministry Of Sound, before joining forces with Tate Britain for a Late At Tate showcase. Lineups for both events are still TBA. In addition, Rinse has lined up six weekends of genre-specific programming on the station in August, September and October, covering the full range of the brand's musical output. These will be tied in with the FWD>> parties at London's Dance Tunnel. The sounds of jungle will kickstart the series on August 30th and 31st, preceded by a FWD>> jungle special on Thursday the 28th. The other genres are dubstep, house, funky, grime and garage.
