- The Metro Area co-conspirator's first release under his new alias also kicks off his new label, Startree.
Darshan Jesrani is starting a new project, Funn City, with a single that's set for release this month.
As one-half of Metro Area, Jesrani has long pushed a disco style that's both retro and contemporary. From the sound of it, Funn City will be up to something similar on All-Night People, bringing together the influence of house, new wave, disco and rock with plenty of modern touches. Much like the run of singles the other half of Metro Area, Morgan Geist, has produced for Storm Queen, Funn City's debut features both a vocal version and a stripped-down dub mix. The record marks the first release for Startree, Jesrani's new label.
