- A collaboration with RocketNumberNine, the Swedish singer's first solo album in 16 years is produced by Four Tet.
Neneh Cherry will release her first solo album since 1996 early next year on Smalltown Supersound.
The Swedish singer hasn't been completely silent during the years since her album Man, but all of her work since then has been collaborative. (She released a record on Smalltown Supersound last year with the jazz group The Thing, for example.) Details are scarce on this new record at the moment—a press release tells us to expect more in the coming weeks—but the album is described as a collaboration with Rocketnumbernine that features a guest spot from the Swedish pop star Robyn. Four Tet was on production duties, and apparently things moved quickly: the record was recorded and mixed in just five days. There's no tracklist at this stage, nor is there a title.
Smalltown Supersound will release the latest album from Neneh Cherry in early 2014.
