Gavin Russom announces free monthly party in NYC

- Drakkar Noir will start tomorrow with Russom and Lauren Flax.
- Gavin Russom and Lauren Flax are throwing a new monthly party called Drakkar Noir, which will debut tomorrow. Russom is a regular in the New York Scene—the DFA associate produces as Black Meteoric Star and Paper Eyes, performs in the Crystal Ark, has frequently collaborated with Delia Gonzales and worked with LCD Soundsystem. Lauren Flax, meanwhile, is a member of gloomy Brooklyn band CREEP. She's worked with Sia and Fischerspooner in the past, as well as releasing music under her own name. Drakkar Noir will take place at the Bossa Nova Civic Club every third Friday of the month after its launch tomorrow, with Russom and Flax as its residents (it's unknown if the series will feature guests DJs in the future). Entry is free from 10 PM through 4 AM. As for what to expect? Russom describes it as a "turbo charged night of deep dance music and sweat."
