Sound Pellegrino has revealed details of its first label compilation, SND.PE Vol 1.
Launched in 2011, the label is run by charismatic producers Teki Latex and DJ Orgasmic, both of whom have roots in the Parisian hip-hop scene as founding members of TTC. In addition to their 30-odd EPs to date, they also have a successful podcast series and put out a slick-looking magazine called L'Annuel last year. SND.PE Vol 1—pronounced "Sound Pé", according to the label—is being released to celebrate Sound Pellegrino's fourth anniversary.
The compilation pulls together tracks from the label's roster. It showcases Sound Pellegrino's cosmopolitan makeup, with artists from 14 cities across nine countries involved. A couple of established names in Todd Edwards and Modeselektor feature, as do a couple of French veterans (Jean Nipon and Orgasmic), and more up-and-coming talent like Matthias Zimmermann, The Phantom and 123Mrk, as well as the label's newest signing, Ben Butler & Mousepad.
