  • Keith Fullerton Whitman will release a split album with Floris Vanhoof on June 1st. The LP will be the American producer's first release of 2013 outside of his two Live Occlusions cassettes for Protracted Audio back in January. He's known for his wide-ranging experimental sound, often using complex synthesis techniques and other methods to create music for labels like Editions Mego and PAN. Vanhoof hails from Belgium, and employs field recordings and homemade or modified equipment in his performances. The album, which was made entirely on analogue synthesizers, will see release through Shelter Press, a company that usually focuses on books. Whitman's five-part "Jardin Electronique" suite is more rhythm-oriented, while Vanhoof's is a "dark and hazy drone piece," according to the record's press materials. The LP is limited to 400 copies. You can stream one of Whitman's tracks, the nine-minute "Automatic Drums With Melody," here. Tracklist 01. Keith Fullerton Whitman - Automatic Ping 02. Keith Fullerton Whitman - Automatic Melody 03.
