  • Michael Mayer will play a special ten-hour set at Trouw in Amsterdam on February 24th. The marathon session comes at the tail end of Mayer's worldwide tour celebrating the release of his latest album, Mantasy. In addition to founding the Kompakt imprint and releasing two well-received artist albums, Mayer is also a renowned DJ. He's released three Immer mix CDs showcasing the softer side of his side—the first of which was chosen as RA's favourite compilation of the past decade—a dimension which he explores further on his recent RA podcast. Just as often, however, his sets can be uptempo and high-energy affairs, betraying the poppier slant of the Kompakt sound. The show will take place a month after Trouw was granted a 24-hour license by Dutch authorities. The night will begin at 5:00 PM, and those who arrive before 8:00 PM get a free dinner at the venue with their entry. Other highlights from the month ahead include Laurent Garnier, Ben Klock, Lee Curtiss and Scuba.
