  • jozif has a mix on the way next month, the first in a new series for Balance Music. Balance has released 22 double-disc mixes so far, with the likes of Deetron, James Holden and Funk D'Void contributing volumes over the years. Rather than give this latest Balance mix number 23, the label is making it the first in a new single-disc mix series that will cast "the spotlight on the emerging talents that are shaping the future of the scene." jozif, the Fist Or Finger label co-head and producer known for his slow and slinky house sides, is certainly the sort of up-and-comer they've described. As he tells it, he'd initially approached the project as a chance to show off a more upbeat side to his musical personality than his productions tend to reveal. "I did the first version and we started to get the records cleared," jozif says, "but in the mean time a good friend of mine passed away suddenly and although I hadn’t seen him for a while, it really affected me." Sides from Steffi, Silicone Soul, Glimpse & Martin Dawson and jozif himself all make the more restrained and melodically lush final cut. Tracklist 01. Charles Webster – Butterfly 02.
