  • Michael Baumann will play shows in Melbourne and Adelaide this weekend under his Soulphiction moniker. The German artist, who also produces more club-oriented tracks as Jackmate, has been releasing a diverse range of house music since the mid-'90s, amassing an extensive discography that amounts to five studio albums and around 50 12-inches on labels like Sonar Kollektiv and Musik Krause. His own Philpot imprint, which he co-founded back in 2000, has an even larger catalogue which features contributions from the likes of Move D, DJ Koze and Juju & Jordash. This year has seen Baumann continue his Manmade Science and Missing Linkx collaborative projects, the latter of which is a live duo with house producer MK. Baumann's first ever trip to Australia will begin in Melbourne, with Old Friend hosting the party at their usual spot, The Mercat Basement, on December 14th. The following night he'll play Cuckoo in Adelaide, alongside The Carter Bros and 12" Phildo. Tickets to the Melbourne show are available here on RA.
