- The Mexican festival has two camping events planned to help ring in the new Galactic Cycle.
- The 11th annual Time and Space Festival will take place in Mexico next month. Time and Space consists of two separately-located events happening almost a week apart. Each will have two stages, and will draw from an equally broad range of electronic acts. The 4/4-focused side of the bill has artists like Ellen Allien, Troy Pierce, Karotte, Paul Ritch and Minilogue. Minus label-mates Ambivalent and Matador are confirmed, as are Kompakt duo Blond:ish and a grip of Bedrock Records associates, including Guy J, Henry Saiz and Wehbba. Minilogue will also perform as Son Kite, the duo's earlier, more trance-oriented alias. There will be plenty of psychedelic ambient, "psy-dub" and downtempo artists on hand, too, such as scene staple Simon Posford's live projects Shpongle, Hallucinogen and Younger Brother. The first event, which runs for a full 27 hours, will mark exactly 11 years since the first Time and Space Festival. For now, the setting is described only as "a beautiful and magical forestland" outside Mexico City. The second event, which starts on Thursday the 20th and has 48 hours of nonstop music, will be located on the beaches of Tulum, an area near Playa del Carmen that's famous for its Mayan temple ruins. That weekend, Space and Time will celebrate the Winter Solstice, and according to some, the beginning of a new era of civilization. To emphasize the "awakening of consciousness," each weekend will also feature live painting from spiritual art gurus Alex and Allyson Grey.
