  • Byetone and Peter Van Hoesen will head to Toronto on Saturday, September 29th, to play the Nuit Black party at 423 College Street. The event, a collaboration between breakandenter, Yatra Arts and Lost Kitten, is an unofficial part of the seventh annual Nuit Blanche, a city-wide series of all-night events celebrating contemporary art. The official program's focus this year is on "catastrophe, collecting and catharsis" (read more about it here), and Nuit Black's lineup should complement those ideas quite well. Byetone, AKA Raster-Noton co-founder Olaf Bender, will show off his dark and experimental sound with a live A/V set. Van Hoesen, the Belgian techno artist recently featured in our Playing Favourites series, will DJ. Also playing live is Orphx, a prolific Hamilton duo with a raw, industrialized take on techno. Mike Gibbs from Lost Kitten and breakandenter resident Martin Fazekas will provide local DJ support, and visuals will come from Markus Heckmann, AKA Wuestenarchitekten.
