  • This year's Berlin Festival will take place over the weekend of September 7th and 8th. As in years past, the main activates will be held at the disused Tempelhof Airport, with a satellite event locked in at Berlin's arenaclub for each of the festival's two nights. Just under 20 acts—encompassing indie rock, electro house and bass music—have been enlisted for slots at the main event. Some of the larger names due to take to the stage at Tempelhof include US outfit The Killers, Icelandic four-piece Sigur Rós and UK singer-songwriter Kate Nash, while SBTRKT, Nicolas Jaar and WhoMadeWho help make up the electronic contingent. Kruezberg's arenaclub will play host to an assorted cast of house, techno and electro acts for the event's Club X-Berg offshoot. Berlin locals Modeselektor, Digitalism and Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs are all scheduled to contribute with live shows, while DJ sets will be supplied by Crookers, Dada Life and Light Asylum.
