- Monkeytown will release the oddball producer's next LP in August.
Miami producer Otto Von Schirach will release his next album, Supermeng, on Modeselektor's label, Monkeytown Records.
In many ways Otto Augusto Von Schirach is a natural fit for Monkeytown. Over the past 10 years he's built a career on wildly over-the-top productions with a heavy-handed (and often low brow) sense of humor. Along the way he's teamed up with everyone from Mike Patton to Skinny Puppy to Venetian Snares, and eventually joined forces with Modeselektor for the track "Evil Twin," which came out as a single earlier this year. In terms of style, Supermeng is all over the board (as anyone familiar with Von Schirach's work would expect), veering through weird mutations of hip-hop, house, surf rock, "mengstep" and more. The album is due for release in August.
