  • Auckland-based artist Frank Booker will headline a People Must Jam party on June 2nd. Perhaps best known as the co-host of the Hit It & Quit It radio show, along with fellow New Zealand resident Recloose, Booker's reputation is built on his skill as a DJ. His eclectic style is generally centered around disco, although as an ardent crate digger his sets have touched on everything from house and techno to hip-hop and jazz. On the production front, he returned to making records last year after releasing his two debut 12-inches on Untracked back in 2009. A pair of singles came out last May on Japanese imprint Wonderful Noise, and this year he contributed the tenth and final volume in the popular Sleazy Beats edits series as well as a ten-inch release on Fine Art. The Sydney show will be Booker's only Australian appearance this visit. The party will be held at an inner-city warehouse location yet to be disclosed, where People Must Jam residents Matt Trousdale, Pete Dot and JMS will be on support duties. Doors open at 10:00 PM and tickets can be purchased here on RA.
