- The duo take a disc each in the new edition of the Ibiza night's mix CD series.
Joris Voorn and Cassy will mix the newest edition of Cocoon's Ibiza season preview mix, this time entitled Cocoon Heroes.
The duo are regulars at Cocoon's Monday night shindig at Amnesia, and neatly showcase the varied strains of house and techno on offer there. Voorn, a Dutch DJ/producer who elegantly straddles the line between overground and underground, appeals to the more melodic and euphoric sensibilities of the night. In his 30-plus track mix, he brings together big moments from producers like Matthew Dekay & Lee Burridge, Guy Gerber and Oxia. Voorn's jam-packed compilation stands in contrast to Cassy's 13-track affair that begins with a surprising opener, Pearson Sound's "Stifle." Throughout, she keeps things largely dark and chunky, with selections from Mr. G, Peace Division and Wax (Shed) acting as highlights.
