  • Danish producer Tomas Barfod will release his debut solo album, Salton Sea, on Friends of Friends in May. Barfod has been a drummer for Kompakt's Whomadewho and part of Filur with fellow Dane Kasper Bjørke in the past, and also operates solo under the name TomBoy. Salton Sea—named for a saltwater lake on California's San Andreas Fault—marks an overt move towards house for the Friends of Friends, an LA-based label previously associated with instrumental hip-hop by artists like Salva and Shlohmo. The album features vocal turns from Sweden's Nina Kinert, New York's Lydia Ainsworth and WhoMadeWho's Jeppe Kjellberg. Salton Sea will be preceded by a single for Broken Glass in March, featuring remixes by Shlohmo and Dusseldorf's Jacob Korn. Tracklist 01. D.S.O.Y. 02. Broken Glass feat. Jeppe Kjellberg 03.
