Various members of the techno collective will play two upcoming stateside parties.
Brooklyn and Chicago appearances are coming up for members of the recently defunct Sandwell District label.
The Berlin-based label, operated by Function, Silent Servant and Regis, had become one of underground techno's most acclaimed outfits in recent years, culminating in the Feed Forward album put out in late 2010. Then, at the end of 2011, a terse message on the collective's WhereNext? blog signaled an end to the label by claiming that "all vinyl artifacts have been decommissioned," and promised only that the artists involved would continue gigging.
To that end, Function, Silent Servant and Rrose (playing live) will all play the back room at next month's Bunker party in Brooklyn, on a bill that also features Morphosis and Juju & Jordash. Then in Chicago in early April, Oktave and the local Prosthetic Pressings label will host DJ sets from Silent Servant and Rrose at The Lair, Vision's intimate basement room.
