  • German experimental artist Felix Kubin will release a new album this month called TXRF. Kubin is a man of many talents, all of them slightly odd: a self-described dadaist with roots in noise and punk music, he's written chamber music, film scores and plays for the radio, though his main vocation is avant-garde electronic music. This is what we see on TXRF, a collection of ten "sequence-based electronic miniatures" inspired by Total Reflection X-Ray Florescence, which is apparently a "method used to analyze the surfaces of materials by firing extremely flat X-rays." TXRF will be the second album on It's, a label based in Kubin's hometown of Hamburg that's run by RVDS, a left-field deep house artist who released one of his own albums through It's last year.
