  • Brandt Brauer Frick will head stateside for gigs in San Francisco, Los Angeles and Miami next month. Among other things, the classically inclined trio of Daniel Brandt, Jan Brauer and Paul Frick have helped bring suits and ties back to techno. Their disciplined approach to dance rhythms involves a vast array of analog equipment, as seen in this video for their hit single "Bop" from 2009. Frick and company have only expanded their sound since then. They enlisted a cast of instrumentalists and continued to keep laptops and other digital sound sources at bay for their second album, Mr. Machine, released late last year. Brandt Brauer Frick's hosts on the tour will be LA promoter The Eclectech. For each event, the trio will link up with Swiss DJ and Perspectiv label head Ripperton, who will be in the country on his first US tour, and Eclectech boss Eduardo Castillo. Things kick off on St. Patrick's Day weekend in California: first up is a night in the Public Works loft in San Francisco (while UK duo Layo & Bushwacka play an extended set in the club's main room), followed by a limited-capacity event at Castillo's private loft in LA. Tickets for that one can be found here on RA. The mini-tour winds down the following week in Miami during WMC. Grab tickets for that party at the event page.
