- The eclectic new night kicks of at W2 - Media Cafe this weekend.
Some of Vancouvers best-known underground DJs have teamed up for a new night at the newly-opened W2 Media Cafe called Yours Truly.
The new residency sees associates and collaborators Prison Garde and Eames team up with Midnight City promoters AJK and Zeeaa to offer "Club Music for the Discerning Individual." With its vibrant cast of residents, it looks set to focus as much on hip-hop, R&B and disco as it does house, techno, and current permutations in bass music, and with a musical market currently somewhat short on house and techno Yours Truly looks to scratch a multi-genre musical itch in Vancouver’s local scene, currently dominated by dubstep and hip-hop. Visuals will be provided by former Bay Area resident St. Genius, and the first night on August 6 will be purely a residents showcase, but the group promises outside headliners for future nights.
