  • Gary Springs Hunting Club will host a day-time "expo" with Inxec at Detroit's New Center Park on Sunday, July 31st, ostensibly to raise awareness for rabies-infected squirrels. GSHC has developed a reputation in the Motor City over the past two years for party themes focused on the bizarre and the erotic (previous event names include "Wet Dream" and "Smell The Discovery") and a music program that trends towards afterparty house and disco. They might be most well known to clued-in heads as the minds behind Shit Show, the party that stretches out for some twenty hours during Movement Festival weekend (and which, this year, featured a petting zoo with llamas and a unicorn). For the RABIES Expo, aka the Rabid Animal Blockade Institution Expo Seminar, the club is bringing back Inxec, who closed out this year's Shit Show, along with the LA trio of Droog and Boston-based DJ Sergio Santos. GSHC's own G.O.D. collective will play live, and a "special surprise celebrity appearance" will be revealed later. If that isn't enough, guests can rest easy knowing that the club is "97.5% sure that absolutely zero squirrels will be in at least three quarters of the park's vicinity."
