- The Swedish experimental duo have a new LP in the works for September.
Roll The Dice will release their second full-length this September, entitled In Dust.
After dropping their eponymous debut album last year, the Swedish duo have found a home on The Leaf Label, a UK imprint that put out their Live in Gothenburg EP this past April. Unlike their first full-length, which was pieced together over a number of years, In Dust was conceived as a whole and recorded in just a matter of months in Sweden. Though it continues with their modus operandi of analog equipment and "controlled improvisation," the album marks a shift in tone for Roll the Dice.
"It's meant to be a little unsettling and claustrophobic," says Peder Mannerfelt. Malcolm Pardon, the other half of the group, says they wanted the record to have "an overwhelming feeling, rather than being too intimate... Though the first one might not have immediately come across as intimate, it was a bit more nature-like in a way. This has more of a big room vibe to it."
In Dust was mastered in Berlin by Stefan Betke, better known as Pole.
