  • Later this month, German DJ and producer Matt John will release a double 12-inch called The Bridge. The 7-track package will see release through Bar25, the in-house label for the erstwhile Berlin club. Though he's made appearances on Perlon and also runs his own imprint, Holographic Island, John has long been a staple of Bar25, having been a resident at the notorious club throughout its heyday. The Bridge stays loyal to his trademark sound: afterhours minimal with an odd sense of humor ("Meatball" makes a hook out of the line "the dog didn't eat the meat.") The Bridge will be one of Bar25's first releases since the club's closure last year. In a strangely lyrical press release, the label muses on its existence in the absence of the club: "This congregation, whose sleeplessness and bliss are one and the same, celebrates every transition as a promise of salvation. This is the ingredient that lends the flow its joyfully received immortality. For them, Matt John's Bridge is a welcome bond between the memories of his old residence–the home of intoxication–and its future, which has propagated itself in the label." The Bridge will be available digitally and on vinyl, with one track, "Krienuluzullu (Day Food)," appearing only on the digital release. Tracklist 01. Hello Again (Californian Sunrise) 02. Meatball 03. Dolphins 04. The Bridge 05. Space Caravan 06. The Rising Horse vers.5 07. Krienuluzullu (Day Food) Bar25 will release The Bridge on April 28th, 2011.
