  • To celebrate their second anniversary, Migrashun will host the Chicago debut of Berlin-based producer Pawel in Vision's basement room on Friday May 13th. Since its inception in 2009, Migrashun has booked the likes of DJ Koze, James Holden and Lucy for parties around Chicago. Earlier this year, the crew hosted Dial Records artist John Roberts, and for the two-year bash they've enlisted Pawel, one of the founders of that German house imprint, to perform live. Formerly known for his prolific Turner alias, Pawel has been an occasional contributor on Dial for a decade leading up to last year's self-titled album, and he has garnered praise for a sultry live set supplemented by his own vocals. Sharing the night's headlining honors is Chicago's own Kate Simko, whose debut full-length album is set to drop next month on Hello? Repeat. She'll showcase her deep, sexy style with a set on the decks, with support coming from Migrashun's own Mathias Matthew along with fellow locals Funk Shui and Jason Warth, who's also the mind behind the event's flyer art. The party is happening in the The Lair, the basement room of Vision mega-club. It's a private event, so attendees will have to tell the Vision security where they're going in order to be led downstairs. Discounted pre-sale tickets are available right here on RA.
