  • The Detroit Paranormal Society will host a multi-room bash at The Works this weekend, featuring JPLS and Skoozbot. Both artists grew up in the state of Indiana and push a similar style of minimal techno. JPLS has a number of releases on Richie Hawtin's Minus imprint, including a pair of full-length albums; living in Berlin now, he's also stayed busy as the head audio producer for the recent Plastikman tour. Skoozbot has stayed in the Midwest, appearing on M-nus as well as putting out records on Hawtin's other label, Plus 8. For this party, JPLS will be performing live while Skoozbot will play a live/DJ set. The Works will undergo an extensive change of decor just for the occasion; the party will take place in two rooms, with a third outdoor area pumping out sound from the main room. Also on hand is a crew of Detroit talent, including Kero, John Johr and Hej Records boss John Overfiend.
