  • Soltek will return to East London venue The Gramaphone on Friday 11th March. The party began at the end of 2009 with the promise of cutting-edge electronic music at a reduced entry price (usually a fiver). Commercial Street venue The Gramaphone has hosted almost all of Soltek's shows to date, with guests like Solid Gold, Nu: Tone and Cluekid. Their next party on March 11th proffers what is undoubtedly their biggest lineup to date, thanks chiefly to the booking of Metalheadz duo Commix. The pair, real names George Levings and Guy Brewer, have been among drum & bass' foremost practitioners since debuting on the scene back in 2003. Their 2007 album Call to Mind came in as the highest placed drum & bass full-length in our roundup of the top albums of the '00s, while its accompanying 2010 remix compilation and podcast for us highlighted their deep-seated appreciation of all things house and techno. The duo will man the decks for a 90-minute stint for Soltek, and will be supported by a lengthy cast list that includes Daffadam, Medlam, Jdan and Optimus Times. Tickets for Soltek are available to purchase directly through RA Tickets.
