- The up-and-coming producer's debut album will be the first release on Zaubernuss, Traum Schallplatten's latest sub-label.
Cologne-based imprint Traum Schallplatten will launch a new label this winter called Zaubernuss, with the first release coming from neophyte producer Mig Dfoe.
Riley Reinhold and Jacqueline Klein have a thing about starting labels. In addition to Traum Schallplatten, the pair co-founded Trapez, My Best Friend, Paintwork and others, making Zaubernuss their sixth imprint yet. According to a press release, the label will emphasize the "expressive emotional" side of electronic music—a description that fits Dfoe's debut album to a T.
The Stone Master is a diverse full-length, with some tracks sporting a heavy dub vibe will others stick to a 4/4 pulse, but mostly all of the songs are atmospheric and melodic. Dfoe chose to perform the drums in real time, giving the rhythms a more organic feel. The record will be his first solo release of any kind; until now, he's only provided remixes for recent 12-inches on Traum.
