- The Parisian producer goes funk, soul and hip-hop on a new LP for Loungin' Recordings.
DJ and producer Arthur Pochon, AKA Art Bleek, will release a new album this winter called Art Supplies.
Most of Pochon's records to date have pushed an atmospheric tech house sound, but he's always had a soft spot for funk and soul as well, as heard on early tracks like "Dangerous Woman." Art Supplies explores this side of his palette more than ever before; all of the tracks are heavily influenced by funk, soul and hip-hop, with hardly a single 4/4 groove in sight. Guest vocalists appear on nearly every song, including Philadelphia based rapper Ursula Rucker and past collaborator Charlie Sputnik (who crooned on the aforementioned "Dangerous Woman").
The album will see release on Loungin' Recordings, a London imprint founded by Sinden, Chris Belsey and Made to Play man Jesse Rose. It will be Art Bleek's second this year, following the more club-focused A Message to the Dreamer, which came out this past summer on Dutch imprint EevoNext.
