- The Detroit electro outfit's latest album boasts two new singers.
Aux 88 have unveiled details for their next full-length, Black Tokyo, due for release this week.
Along with artists like Drexciya, Will Web and Underground Resistance, Aux 88 have roots in early '90s Detroit, when a Kraftwerk-inspired electro sound crept into Motor City techno. According to a press release, their new album focuses more on the bass-heavy side of their palette, while also bringing in a new Japanese influence (as many of the song titles suggest). Joining core members Keith Tucker and Tony Hamilton (who have apparently been "re-assimilated as Arashi Hoshino and Shin Muramatsu"), are two new singers: Ice Truck and Japanese artist Erika Tele. The album will see release via Puzzlebox Records, the label Tucker co-founded with Anthony 'Shake' Shakir in 1996.
