- The Amsterdam-based artist's debut album will be the first release on Trouw's new label.
DJ and producer Patrice Baumel will release his first album, Vapour, this fall on Trouw, a new record label stemming from the Amsterdam club of the same name.
Baumel has been releasing music for the past five years or so, with his biggest single to date being Roar, a rousing party tool on Get Physical that made a big splash in the summer of 2008. Vapour shows a more understated side of Baumel's palette, consisting mostly of lean and atmospheric techno tracks, with a couple of beatless sketches thrown in as well. The CD version of the album will present a seamless mix of all the tracks, with unmixed versions available via digital download.
Vapour will be the first ever release on Trouw's new label. Run by Baumel and fellow local artists Nuno dos Santos, Olaf Boswijk and Jeroen Hofer, the label will serve as a platform for Trouw's cast of resident DJs, which includes Boris Werner, Joris Voorn, Melon and Quince among others.
