  • August's Bank Holiday weekend is traditionally one of the most hectic periods in the UK's clubbing calendar, with punters being typically spoiled for choice when it comes to deciding where they're going to end up. All this choice can be overwhelming, so we've decided to help you out this year with a regional round-up of the hottest electronic music events going on this weekend. Dirtybird's Justin Martin will kick off his short run of UK dates at Leicester's Sophbeck Session on Friday night, with the show taking place in the club's intimate 150-capacity basement. Birmingham's promoters seem to be saving themselves for the actual weekend, with events lined-up to hit Digbeth's warehouse venues. Sander Kleinenberg will play a three-hour DVJ set at the Custard Factory for his own This Is Sander Kleinenberg bash, while both Markus Schulz and Cosmic Gate will be getting people to reach for the lasers in the main room of Air for Godskitchen. Brummies who are looking for some house and techno to soundtrack their weekend should do their best to head down to Below's extended session at the Rainbow Pub, which kicks off on Sunday afternoon and features performances from Argy, Vincenzo, Dan Berkson and James What amongst others. Grant Nelson will also be flexing his UK garage muscle at Bushwackers for a special late night session which takes things right through until 7am on Monday morning. Over in Nottingham city centre, there are two all-day shindigs worth your attention on the Sunday. The first is Audiophile's free event at the Pitcher & Piano, which will see Radio 1's Chris Coco lay down some selections alongside Coyote and Red Rack'em. Or if you fancy jacking it up a bit more, then Robsoul boss Phil Weeks will be showcasing his Chicago-infected sound at The Nag's Head pub for Junk Yard and Back To The Future's beach party.
