We take a look at what's going on in Brighton, Maidstone and Southampton this Bank Holiday.
August's Bank Holiday weekend is traditionally one of the most hectic periods in the UK's clubbing calendar, with punters being typically spoiled for choice when it comes to deciding where they're going to end up. All this choice can be a little overwhelming, so we've decided to help you out this year with a regional round-up of the hottest electronic music events going on this weekend.
Most of the action in the area is stacked up in the latter half of the weekend, although the Friday will see UK funky pioneer Roska headline Brighton's Life club, while Southampton's Junk will be hosting the bass-heavy antics of both Redlight and Toddla T.
If you fancy a drum & bass rinse out on the Sunday night, Brighton's Digital will be hosting the Shogun Audio imprint, complete with sets from Alix Perez and Noisia. Dubfire will also be in the town that night for Do Not Disturb's shindig at Audio, where he'll be joined by Alex Downey and Shane Watcha.
The real hub for house and techno on the Sunday, however, is Maidstone. Nic Fanciulli will be hosting his final Saved Sundays party this weekend, and he's pulled out quite the line-up for the bash at the Source Bar. John Digweed, Davide Squillace, Luca Bacchetti, Danny Howells and Matt Tolfrey are all scheduled to lay down sets, while minimal house lovers may want to head over to Banks, where Off Key will be hosting both Nick Curly and Jamie Jones
