  • Multi-discipline Sydney outfit Future Classic have linked up with online design hub Australian INfront to co-present Designer Disco. Designer Disco will see Future Classic's spiritual home, the Civic Hotel, transformed into a gallery space. Over a dozen print-based artists and design studios will exhibit their work, all of which have adhered to an overlaying theme of music, and a black, white and pink colour palette. Activities on the night won't only be confined to the hotel, though, as the exhibition and accompanying music will spread to the adjacent alleyway. Several of the designers taking part in the exhibition have strong ties to the Australian music industry. One half of Melbourne-based studio Alter is Cut Copy's frontman Dan Whitford, while Webuyyourkids have been working closely with local label Popfrenzy since 2006. Downstairs at the Civic Underground, the Future Classic DJs will be spinning their assorted disco and house grooves, along with an (as yet) unannounced headliner.
