  • Miami nightclub Space is set to close indefinitely this fall, following two closing parties during Labor Day weekend. Space announced the news in a statement on their website, but were light on some important details, such as why exactly the club is closing and when it will reopen again. Instead, the message focuses on the Ibiza-style closing parties, which have apparently been one of the club's longtime goals. Some locals are skeptical: A nightlife blog for the Miami New Times points out that, while Ibiza's party season ends with the summer, Miami's doesn't fully pick up until the fall, which makes Space's timing seem odd. Rumors already abound of "money mismanagement" and "potential ownership changes," though at the moment there is little evidence to support such theories. Whatever the case may be, the lineups for the closing parties are already taking shape. DJ Boris will headline the first night with DJ Camilo, while minimal maestro Guy Gerber takes care of the techno loft. Details on the second night are still forthcoming, but Swedish jock Steve Angello has been confirmed for the terrace.
