  • James Blake will play four shows in the UK this month before heading to Hamburg for a single German date. The young London-based producer has caused quite a fuss in a relatively short space of time, eschewing typical dance floor conventions to create delightfully wonky tracks on labels like Hessle Audio, Hemlock and the newly relaunched R&S. Some of it is more downbeat and introspective, but he's also proved that he can get rowdy for the club with his oddly maximal remix of Untold's "Stop What You're Doing." Blake will kick off his series of dates in Nottingham tomorrow night, playing as part of the Wigflex label's star-studded party at Stealth. Shackleton, Joy Orbison, Floating Points, Alexander Nut, Mount Kimbie and Deadboy are just some of their guests, so lovers of all things bass in the area should do their utmost to attend. Manchester's Hit & Run crew will also host Blake the following Wednesday for their special Take The Money & Run bash, which will also see Breakage and DMZ's Mala take to the Area 51 booth. Then he'll be at Cambridge's Fez Club on Friday the 11th for a headlining set, before rounding off the series of English dates at Essex's Oscillate Wildly party alongside UK funky pioneer Roska the following evening.
