  • Michigan and Chicago-based trio Salem are set to release their debut album this fall, entitled King Night. Over the past two years, Salem have spearheaded a brand of slow and sinister electro-pop that has earned genre tags like "drag," "witch-house" and "haunted house." Though the overall vibe smacks of moody electronic artists like Fever Ray or Burial, the production style is primarily influenced by screwed and chopped hip-hop, a trippy, ultra pitched-down subgenre emanating from the rap scene in Houston, Texas. Salem has put out four seven-inches so far, including titles like Frost & Legend and Yes, I Smoke Crack. King Night will mark their debut on IAMSOUND Records, an independent label based in Los Angeles. Tracklist 01. King Night 02. Asia 03. Frost 04. Sick 05. Release Da Boar 06. Trapdoor 07. Redlights 08. Hound 09. Traxx 10. Tair 11. Killer IAMSOUND will release Salem's King Night on September 28th, 2010.
