  • Tomorrow night's edition of Magic & Medicine has been cancelled, as headliner James Murphy feels too ill to perform. Magic & Medicine's Gareth Hansome issued this statement to Resident Advisor earlier today:
Unfortunately this Thursday's Magic & Medicine club night with James Murphy has had to be cancelled. We have been informed by his management and agent that James has become ill and is unable to fly today from the US his visit and entire schedule in the UK has therefore been cancelled. James regrets not coming but has a bad vocal infection and needs to stay home to take care of it to avoid any lasting damage. He will be returning soon and will make up for lost time. Refunds for advance tickets are available at point of purchase. To those of you that had bought advance tickets we can only thank you for your enthusiasm for what was to be another memorable party. We wish James a speedy recovery and will keep you informed regarding news of a rescheduled date.
Murphy, the man behind DFA Records and LCD Soundsystem, would have shared the decks at East Village with Skull Juice, Dan Beaumont of Disco Bloodbath, and local acts Tronik Youth and Rory Phillips.
