Get classy with C2 and Moritz Von Oswald in London

- RA and RBMA will host an experimental concert next Friday with Carl Craig, Moritz Von Oswald, DJ Sprinkles, Matmos, Henrik Schwarz and more.
- Resident Advisor and the Red Bull Music Academy have teamed up to bring you a night of avant-garde techno at the Southbank Centre next Friday. The event will feature live performances and collaborations by some of techno's most forward thinking artists, giving fans a rare opportunity to see some of their favourites outside of their usual club context. Terre Thaemlitz will perform as DJ Sprinkles, the ghostly deep house alter-ego behind Midtown 120 Blues, RA's favorite album of 2009. Henrik Schwarz will join forces with Norwegian experimental pianist Bugge Wesseltoft for one of their heady, classical-influenced live sets. Critically acclaimed sound artists Matmos will likely take things further into the left-field, showcasing their outlandish blend of electronic beats and oddly sourced found sounds (cards being shuffled, drums played with roses and snails crawling through a light sensitive theremin have all featured in previous live performances). To finish off the night, techno visionaries Carl Craig and Moritz von Oswald will play live with Francesco Tristano, the producer and contemporary pianist who gave us 2008's Auricle/Bio/On. Craig and Von Oswald will take to the laptops and synthesizers, while Francesco plays a grand piano. The whole ordeal will probably look something like Craig and Tristano's 2008 performance in Paris, minus the full orchestra. The concert will be a seated event at the Royal Festival Hall in Southbank Centre. The final performance will end at 10:30, so you'll have plenty of time for proper partying afterwards.
