  • Minus and Raster-Noton will launch their Container collaboration at Berlin's WMF club next Thursday. While both imprints have distinctly different styles—Minus with their dance floor-friendly sound, and Raster-Noton offering an uncompromisingly avant-garde take on digital electronic music—they share a common grounding in minimalist aesthetics, something which has brought them together for their latest project. The labels first came together in 1999 when Richie Hawtin was invited to take contribute a track to Raster-Noton's New Forms compilation, with the Minus boss also performing at the launch party in Leipzig. Since that event took place ten years go, the two imprints have expressed a desire to collaborate again, with the long overdue result being next week's Container event. Just how exactly the two labels' will collaborate is unclear, but the night will definitely see solo performances from Raster-Noton chiefs Carsten Nicolai and Olaf Bender as well as Hawtin and JPLS. Nibo will provide both visuals and audio, while Minus' VJing roster will be represented by Ali Demirel and Matthew Hawtin.
