LA-based funk and boogie connoisseur Dâm-Funk is set to make his London return next Thursday.
The party on 12th November is a collaboration between Glasgow's LuckyMe crew and London's Citinite imprint, and is set to showcase three American artists that will appear on the label next year. Fresh from the release of his Toeachizown double album on Stones Throw, Dâm-Funk (real name Damon Riddick) will headline the party with a live set, demonstrating what his loose and funky electronic sound is all about. Previous DJ appearances have garnered quite a reaction in the capital, so expect the atmosphere to be equally as electric when he hits The Lightbox's stage on Thursday night. Joining him will be LuckyMe affiliate Rustie, who should be playing plenty of fresh material in what is his first-ever live set in London. Diverse Detroit-born electronicist Jimmy Edgar will also appear, while Florida-based electro head and Isophlux boss Gosub completes the bill.
We spoke briefly to Dâm-Funk by e-mail to ask him about London crowds, his live set and what he's up to next.I heard that you got a great reception at Benji B’s Deviation party. How do the London crowds compare to back home in LA?
It's a just a slightly different vibe. But, they BOTH get down, and that's all that matters at the end of the day.

Straightforward, in your face, non-ironic modern-funk bizness 4 U!!
Are you working on any new material at the moment? What's next for you?
Yes. I'm working on various remixes and productions, along with doing official side projects with artists such as Nite Jewel and groups like Master Blazter. Also, some other 'secrets' that are in the pipeline. Stay tuned. No more interviews though beginning January 2010. The music is all I'll be concerned with from here on out. Peace.
