The indie group will be touring the country in addition to their festival show.
In addition to their appearance at the upcoming Meridith Music Festival in Victoria, Animal Collective are set to tour Australia with a string of shows. The tour will see them hit Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth throughout early December.
The New York-based band, who are well known inside dance music circles, released their most recent studio effort, Merriwether Post Pavillion through Domino earlier this year. A number of tracks from the album have recently made it into several high-profile mixes, including James Lavelle's Global Underground #37, and Modeselektor's Body Language.
The band, whose members go by the names of Avey Tare, Panda Bear, Deakin and Geologist, are no strangers to Australian crowds, having debuted in the county in 2006. They'll be joined on the road by New Zealand-based electronic musician Bachelorette, who'll be touring in support of her new LP My Electric Family.
