  • Italoboyz are set to release their debut album next month, which is titled Bla Bla Bla. Marco Donato and Federico Marton have been continually present on London's minimal house and techno scene since they moved from their native Italy in 2002. After breaking into production with a series of EPs on Einmaleins, Treibstoff and Safari Electronique, the duo were snapped up by Claude VonStroke's Mothership label for their "Viktor Casanova" track, which ended up being quite the club hit thanks to its manipulated operatic vocal and driving minimal rhythms. That particular track doesn't make it onto the final Bla Bla Bla tracklisting, but more recent singles such as the John Coltrane-sampling "Bahia" and the title track are included alongside eight previously unreleased cuts. French duo Masomenos appear on album opener "Where Is London," which incorporates tango rhythms and Big Ben samples into its minimal groove, while elsewhere Donato and Marton get their 808 out for some classic techno action ("Taka Taka Tashhh"), sample Salvador Dali ("L'Anagramme"), and even throw in a couple of laid back jazzy numbers ("Edo Breiss" and "Oh Mio Dio"). The album finishes on a melancholy note with the organic beatlessness of "The Pink Unicorn," which was recorded live during a four-hour session in Tokyo earlier this year. Tracklist 01. Where Is London 02. Bla Bla Bla 03. Taka Taka Tashhh 04. Chinese 05. Edo Breiss 06. Techno Tower 07. L'Anagramme 08. Bahia 09. Oh Mio Dio 10.
