Omar-S goes to the purple planet

- The Detroit DJ will perform as part of a new series of parties in Los Angeles this weekend.
- Omar-S and Bodycode are set to perform this weekend as part of a new series of parties in Los Angeles. The event will be the Detroit producer's West Coast debut, and it'll be for a very special party entitled Purple Planet. The theme of this night will be the color, with purple-clad bartenders and security set to help revelers through the night. Each night in this proposed quarterly series will seek to "re-create the vibe of parties in Detroit in the early 1990s that were otherworldly and futuristic feeling, but still had soul" by pairing a Detroit DJ up with a European. To further that vibe, each party will take place at a warehouse in downtown Los Angeles and feature a Funktion One soundsystem. With Anja Schneider and Dan Curtin lined up for its next edition, we're guessing that Angelenos will want to go to another planet quite often in 2009.
