  • Shoreditch's Roadtrip Bar is set to open this weekend with sets from Cedric Maison and Soho. The new venue was dreamt up by artist and designer Paul Daly (not to be confused with Leftfield member Paul Daley), and was heavily inspired by the rock'n'roll juke joints that he frequented during his time spent living in New York's East Village district during the '80s. There's no rock music to be had in this place, however, as Daly has insisted that the music policy caters to house, techno and disco fans. Nocturnal club-goers may be disappointed to find out that the venue will close each night at 2:30am, but its early opening and free entry policy mean that Roadtrip may well become a firm favourite on the city's pre-party circuit. Runsounds will host tomorrow's opening party with a set from Hypercolour boss Cedric Maison, whilst Saturday's shindig will see the London-based Fear Of Flying label hosting a performance from Soho, who is one-third of the city's LikeThat party collective. The rest of the month has an equally strong focus on UK labels and artists, with parties being hosted by both Immigrant and Hypercolour, and other nights seeing disco and techno sets from Cagedbaby and Alison Marks respectively.
