RA highlights the best parties of the Valentine weekend.
Chocolates, flowers and techno. They go so well together, don't you think? That's what plenty of promoters across the States will be hoping this weekend at least, as many of the best parties have a Valentine's theme.
Reboot and Thomas Melchior playing live will be one of those events with the Blk|Market Membership crew welcoming the duo for a "Cadenza in Love with..." party on Saturday at Love. They'll be competing with the newly inaugurated Save the Cannibals party in midtown at Rebel, which welcomes Cassy for a headlining set this week as well as DJ Sneak over at Sullivan Room, DJ Boris at Pacha and Lil' Louis at Santos Party House.
Elsewhere in the city, at Bar 13 Nutown Project and Jona will hold things down on Friday with Ryan Elliott stopping by for a rooftop set on Sunday in conjunction with Mike Shannon playing at Wolf + Lamb's Marcy Hotel later on in the evening for something they're calling "I Need My Space / I Want You Back."
Elliott won't be spending his Valentine's Day with New Yorkers, however. He'll be dropping by Cleveland for a Resident Advisor presents party at Touch Supper Club with Thomar, Andy James and 1 Auxy providing support. Elsewhere in the Midwest—a day earlier—Elon, Connie, Jason Patrick and John Johr will be hitting the Bankle Building in Detroit.
Finally, on the West Coast, Sammy Dee, Marc Schneider, Nikola Baytala and Clint Stewart will celebrate vinyl at an undisclosed location in San Francisco, and the next night will see Baytala go at it again with Damian Lazarus and DJ Three at yet another unknown location in the city. And down in Los Angeles, Mike Shannon will come to Compression at King King on Friday, while Mauro Picotto, D. Ramirez and Dory are at Vanguard and Steve Porter and Sammy Dee will head up Avalon on Saturday.
