PAN is putting out the debut album from Finnish experimental duo Amnesia Scanner in September.
Another Life is said to highlight a new focus on pop structures for the Berlin-based duo comprising Ville Haimala and Martti Kalliala. Their first full-length effort has two collaborations with Pan Daijing, including "AS Chaos," a digital single released on PAN back in April. Another Life also features Oracle, which the label describes as a "disembodied voice" that "represents the sentience that has emerged from Amnesia Scanner." We're told the record's "avant-EDM productions" aim to "evocatively explore a schizophrenic present marked by narratives of a slow apocalypse or salvation via technology."
Haimala and Kalliala, who've also made more straightforward techno and electro under the name Renaissance Man, began working as Amnesia Scanner—an anagram of their earlier alias—in 2014. Amnesia Scanner's output includes appearances on Young Turks and Gum Artefacts, as well as some self-released material. Daijing released her debut album on PAN last year.
